Driving Directions to Mount Washington on Vancouver Island, BC
From
Victoria, head north on ROUTE 1 N / TRANS CANADA HWY N.past Nanaimo (see the Malahat Cam) and take EXIT 130 to Strathcona Parkway which leads to Mount Washington Alpine Resort. Estimated driving time: 2 1/2 hours.
From Nanaimo, head north on Highway
19 and take EXIT 130 to Strathcona Parkway which leads to Mount Washington Alpine Resort. It’s an easy two hour drive from Nanaimo, and the road is paved right up to the parking lot. For Strathcona Parkway in winter, you must have good winter tires or carry chains. Estimated driving time: 75 minutes.
From Campbell River and points north, Travel south on Highway 19 and take EXIT 130 to Strathcona Parkway.
In Winter Use Good Winter Tires or carry Chains
Occasionally there are chain-up advisories on Strathcona Parkway. Chains are available for purchase at the bottom chain-up area and at the loading bay area of the Alpine Lodge. You are advised to BE PREPARED! Supply is limited.
